The TZ Medical Adjustable Tensioning System (ATS) is an adjustable aid designed to help facilitate labor induction by creating and maintaining variable tension once the intracervical catheter is placed. The ATS utilizes a soft adjustable tensioning tab that connects directly to the end of the balloon catheter, and a micro hook & loop adhesive pad that is placed along the patient’s leg. Once the balloon is inflated in the cervix, the tensioning tab can be secured to the adhesive anchor pad on the patient, creating lateral tension to assist mechanical dilation of the cervix. Adjusting tension is as simple as pulling directly up on the tensioning tab and resecuring it to the anchor pad.
